Wilson Fishing Dominate

The Gold Coast Flathead Classic was a roaring success with over 5,500 fish caught and released over three days. From deep water through to shallow water, big fish and small fish alike were hitting the measuring tapes and being counted toward the team scores.

Wilson Fishing had two official teams in the event and also a huge number of anglers using products such as Zerek Tango Shads, Zerek Live Flash Minnows and the new Zerek Live Shrimp Hot Legs.

Wilson Fishing team (Scott Flemming and Rob Payne) finished third overall and won the 2 Person Team section with a sensational score of 3,905, which included Scott's biggest ever flathead, a cracking 91cm monster taken trolling with a 50mm Zerek Tango Shad.

Team Live Fibre/Zerek Lures (Troy Dixon, Sean Conlan and Adam Meredith) came in 14th overall with a great score of 2,433 points with highlights being a 79cm flathead on a Live Shrimp Hot Legs and an 80cm beast on a 50mm Zerek Tango Shad.

Individually Rob Payne won Champion Angler with 2,135 points, Scott Flemming came in fourth overall with 1,770 points and Troy Dixon came in 25th overall with 1,174 points.

With more than 500 competitors and over 200 teams competing, the Wilson Fishing team members all excelled and performed above and beyond Wilson Fishing's wildest dreams.

Congratulations to the wonderful anglers who represented Wilson Fishing and to all those anglers who chose to use Wilson Fishing product and lures. Thanks must go out to the hard working team at the Gold Coast Sportfishing Club who always put on a sensational event and this year, their 21st year, was no exception.
