The McArthy Buzz N Frog was designed to be fished on top and through the thickest weed you can get and part of the success of this lure in doing that is how it's rigged.

Here we show you a simple way to rig your McArthy Buzz N Frog for chasing barra, toga, bass, cod - well pretty much anything that wants to smack a topwater frog.

It's not a new rigging technique and it's not necessary to reinvent the wheel, but with the barra lakes firing and the weed beds growing every day, it's always a good time for a quick refresher.

We use the Zerek 5" Live Shrimp Hook Pack as the 5/0 weighted worm hook fits perfectly into the McArthy and comes in three weights (4g, 8g, 11g) to give the angler options. For example the lightest weight can be used when a slower retrieve is wanted yet you still want the Buzz N Frog to stay on top, whereas the heavier weights can be used when you're burning the frog on top or you want to fish the Buzz N Frog just below the surface.

Step 1

Insert the hook point into the nose of the lure - the first belly rib is about the right spot. This creates a guide for the hook eye.

Step 2

Insert the hook eye from below through the guide hole. Push the Buzz N Frog onto the worm hook bend or post.

Step 3

Underneath the Buzz N Frog are belly ribs that are raised and come to an apex that provide the perfect guide for your worm hook point. Insert the hook into the lure and push through to the top hook guide slot.

Step 4

Your Buzz N Frog is rigged and ready to be tied on. Some anglers use a dot of superglue on the nose tow point, but with the post design of the worm hooks in the Zerek Hook Packs this is not absolutely necessary.
